When ENVE dropped the Poison Apple Melee, we knew it was going to be a standout. Bold, glossy, and mind bending in the best way — it didn’t just ask for a proper build; it demanded it.
We’ve been a fan of ENVE’s recent color drops. Venom on the Fray was wild. Poison Apple? Even better. It’s got presence. And we were stoked to match that with a build that’s all go.
The Build
We went full race mode on this one:
- SRAM RED AXS 1x drivetrain — 50T up front, 10-36 in the back. Clean, simple, and ready to move.
- ENVE Aero cockpit — integrated, minimal, fast.
- ENVE SES 4.5 wheels — built for speed and stability.
- Pirelli P ZERO Race RS tires — fast-rolling, race-day grip.
All in, it came in at 15.66 lbs (size 58). Light, responsive, and ready to rip.
Why We Love the Melee
The Melee hits a rare sweet spot. It’s race-ready — stiff where it matters, sharp in the corners, and fast in a straight line — but it’s also incredibly balanced. The ride quality is dialed: planted, smooth, and comfortable on long days.
It’s a bike that feels just as at home chasing breakaways as it does on an all-day mission. Add ENVE’s obsessive attention to detail — like tunable geometry and seamless integration — and you get a bike that disappears beneath you in the best possible way.
